SACRAMENTO COUNTY-
A person is being tested for Ebola at Kaiser South in Sacramento County. A spokesperson for Kaiser told FOX40 they are treating a person who arrived Wednesday night with Ebola symptoms.
They said the patient is being treated at Kaiser South, located in South Sacramento by their Ebola Special Care Unit. The patient is considered low-risk.
Friday morning health officials confirmed another possible Ebola patient, being treated in Sacramento, tested negative for the virus.
This earlier patient originally went to Mercy General Hospital and was transferred to UC Davis Medical Center by a special ambulance.
It appears this second patient is staying at Kaiser South, at least for now. Kaiser’s South Sacramento and Oakland locations were approved by the California Department of Public Health to treat possible Ebola patients.
Health officials have not said if the two patients are connected.
Last October, two people in Sacramento were being monitored for possible Ebola exposure. They were considered low-risk, but were flagged by health officials because of their travel history.
