CARMICHAEL-
A man accused of running over a Carmichael couple and their four dogs is now facing a murder charge.
Harison Long-Randall and Gemily West were out walking their show dogs back in July, when a car hit a stop sign and headed toward them. The driver took off, leaving the dogs dead and the couple seriously injured.
Long-Randall died from his injuries, which included his legs being severed.
Paul Walden was arrested a few weeks later, after being pulled over for allegedly driving under the influence.
Initially, Walden was facing charges of hit-and-run, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, and four counts of animal cruelty.
Wednesday morning in court, the District Attorney formally charged Walden with Long-Randall’s murder.
Walden will be in court again on October 31.
