MANTECA—

A signature Tillamook set of vehicles were stolen early Saturday morning. The next day, CHP found the truck and the trailer abandoned and on fire. Tillamook is now offering a reward to get their cheese buses back.

The set of vehicles, a Ford F350, a Cargo Trailer, and 3 1964 VW Mini Buses, was stolen between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Saturday from the parking of a Hampton Inn in Manteca. Police began their search, but did not find any of the missing pieces until the next day.

Just past midnight on Sunday morning, the bright orange Ford F350 and its cargo trailer were found in Jamestown by Sonora area CHP, who found the vehicles burning on the side of the road. The three Volkswagen Mini Buses, however, have yet to be found.

Tillamook is offering a $10,000 reward for the safe recovery of their three Mini Buses.

The 3 VW Mini Buses are described as follows:

  • 1964 VW Mini Bus, Oregon License plate number YUM4
  • 1966 VW Mini Bus, Oregon License plate number YUM5
  • 1959 VW Mini Bus, Oregon License plate number YUM6

All of the vehicles and trailers are custom painted orange with “Tillamook” in white along the sides.
