NAPA COUNTY-
Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for the Napa area following a 6.1 earthquake.
Almost 90 people are being treated for injuries from the quake that was centered in the city of American Canyon in Napa County. There are about 30 water mains with some level of break or leak, almost 100 gas line breaks are being investigated, a handful of roads have buckled to the point where traffic is stopped, and firefighters say they have put out several fires.
The Queen of the Valley Medical Center says so far Sunday morning they have cared for 89 people, most have had minor injuries like cuts and bruises.
So far they have two patients with significant injuries, one had a heart attack and the other had multiple fractures. Extra medical staff have been called in to handle the increase in patients. They told FOX40 their disaster response team is responding, which trains for situations like this.
There is extensive damage to buildings downtown Napa, and several roads are blocked off.
The Red Cross has set up a shelter at Crosswalk Community Church along 1st Street in Napa.
