CARMICHAEL-

FOX40 has learned that Harison Long-Randall, who, along with his girlfriend and four dogs, was struck by a hit-and-run driver a few weeks ago, has died.

Mercy San Juan Hospital confirmed Harison’s death Sunday — with CHP saying Monday that Harrison died around 3 a.m. He succombed to injuries sustained during the collision, CHP said.

The impact of the crash severed Harison’s leg, along with killing all four dogs and injuring his girlfriend.

Gemily West, Harison’s girlfriend, credits him for taking much of the impact of the crash and saving her from much more serious injury.

On July 19, a man was pulled over for possibly driving under the influence. That man, 31-year-old Paul William Walden, was later found to be the suspect in the hit-and-run. Damage to Walden’s car was consistent with what authorities were looking for.

Walden was facing charges of hit-and-run, animal cruelty, driving on a suspended license and DUI. Authorities are considering additional charges against Walden as a result of Harison’s death.
