SANTA CRUZ-
Santa Cruz Police arrested a Folsom woman Friday for allegedly giving a man a lethal dose of heroin and watching him die.
We’re also learning more about the victim, who allegedly is the former senior director of Apple’s world wide operations.
Police found the man dead aboard a boat in Santa Cruz’s small craft harbor on Nov. 23, 2013.
Investigators say they identified 26-year-old Alix Tichelman, of Folsom, as someone the 51-year-old victim had an “ongoing prostitution relationship” with.
Tichelman was reportedly a high-priced, outcall prostitute. Police say she bragged of having more than 200 client relationships and used the website “Seeking Arrangements” to find clients.
She was identified as the suspect after detectives looked through texts and emails belonging to her, police said.
Investigators say Tichelman met with the man and injected him with heroin during their visit.
Surveillance footage from aboard the man’s yacht, according to police, shows Tichelman gathering her things and even finishing a glass of wine as the man died. Police added that at no point did Tichelman call 911.
The victim has been identified as Forrest Hayes, who was currently working on “Google X,” and is a former Apple employee.
On July 1, Tichelman posted on her Facebook page that she’d be moving to Georgia. That’s when officials made their move. Detectives posed as a potential client and arrested Tichelman on July 4. She was booked into the Santa Cruz county jail on charges of manslaughter, destruction of evidence and transporting and providing narcotics. Investigators say Tichelman’s fingerprints were found on the wine glass from the yacht.
Investigators say they believe Tichelman was involved in a similar case in another state.
