WOODLAND–

A 31-year-old woman says that a man tried to kidnap her in broad daylight Sunday afternoon, Woodland Police report.

The attempted kidnapping happened at the Westgate Shopping Center at around 3:35 p.m. The woman told police she was walking between some cars in the parking lot when someone in a pickup truck opened his door to block her way.

Grabbing her hair, the man then tried pulling her into the truck. But, she yelled for help and attracted the attention of a bystander.

The man let go and sped away down West Main Street. The truck is described as a white, compact, 1990’s model. He is described as a Hispanic man in his late 30’s with a large build, who was hearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and green sweat pants at the time.
